Samadhi – BKS Iyengar
This is a beautiful, if scratchy video of BKS Iyengar, made when he was at his prime in 1977 when he was only 59!
Yoga Yantra
In India, sacred geometric patterns, known as yantra, are used as an aid to meditation and to call up aspects of divinity. B.K.S. Iyengar describes asana, each one of which also has it’s own precise geometrical shape, as meditation in action. This film combines images based on film footage of B.K.S. Iyengar in practice, traditional Vedic yantras and mandalas, and devotional Indian music.
Yoga Sutras; Avidya
An animation including yogasutra 2.3 where Patanjali introduces us to the 5 kleshas, 5 colorings. An animation using the simplicity of squares to try to explain about how the 5 coloring make us forget the non-dual Reality. https://tripurashakti.com.
Dr. Geeta S. Iyengar on Yoga Kurunta
In Iyengar yoga, working with ropes is refer to as Yoga Kurunta (a Kurunta is a puppet in South Indian theater). We are presenting here a short segment from a 30 minutes video we recorded in Pune in 2009 with Dr Geeta S. Iyengar. As always, Geetaji is able to skillfully link the advantages of using the props (the ropes in this case) for the physical benefit of our practice with the deeper philosophical meaning of using the yogic practice to progress on the path of freedom from bondage.
Yoga: Aligning to the Source
This Film explores the origins of Yoga, its development and practices, its integration across religions in India, the science behind it and its successful spread all over the world. It demonstrates how Yoga can be a comprehensive set of tools for life, for realigning one’s mind and body in equilibrium and for accessing a higher sense of consciousness and awareness.
